Monthly Favourites (Like the Beauty Vloggers Do, If Beauty Vloggers Mostly Talked About Internet Videos) · Uncategorized

Des Favouritos

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a “Favourites” blog. This isn’t necessarily a January favourites list, because um… Unless I write it down (and I didn’t), I can’t remember the last time I went to the bathroom, let alone what I was doing last month. Here, instead, is some random online (mostly YouTube) stuff I love.

Winnie the Pooh is Overrated – Eeyore, Probably (The Bloggess)
(Blog link here)

Jenny Lawson is a longtime favourite blogger of mine, but it has been awhile since I’ve been to her website because… YouTube. But I checked in the other day, and her Winnie the Pooh is Overrated post actually made me cry laughing. I read it out loud to Chase, and I could barely form words. Granted, it was late at night, and I was exhausted, but I’m sure this post holds up when you’re well rested and in your right mind, too.

Wabi Sab-E

These guys are so cute! They are a young (Canadian, I think) couple who is restoring their old farmhouse. Their work is really neat and creative, the editing is tight, and their personalities are adorable.

Jessica Kellgren-Fozard
(Channel link here)

I became a little obsessed with this girl not long ago, and watched her videos for days on end. I love everything about her – her accent, her personality, her positive attitude, her STYLE. Don’t be surprised if I’m suddenly rocking some victory rolls one of these days, because ugh… she’s sent me down a weird YouTube spiral of pinup hairstyle tutorials. I’d kill to look that great and confident in vintage clothes.

ANYWAY, Jessica is great. She has videos on everything, from vlogs, to videos about her disabilities, to recipes, to fashion… I dare you not to fall in love with her.

Inconceivable (Web Series)
(Channel link here)

I want more seasons of this web series. So good. And also Canadian! And based on a true story! Basic plot summary: lesbian gets pregnant, and she and the father have to figure out how to proceed.  I feel like I’m insulting this great show with that synopsis. I’m sorry, This is a Spoon Studios! Trust me – I’m not doing Inconceivable any justice. It is funny and quirky and it made me cry. I love it.

Every Frame A Painting
(Channel link here)

I never thought much about how movies are shot/directed/acted before, until I started watching this channel. In 7th grade, I remember my teacher, Mr. B, telling us that nothing happens in a movie by accident, and on some level, I understood (i.e. specific music is chosen for a reason, etc.), but this shit blows my mind. Very interesting stuff!
